Got Aortic And Mitral Valve Replaced. Tricuspid Valve Is Showing Severe Regurgitation. Also Having COPD. Treatment?

my father got aortic and mitral valve replaced ten years back. Now, his tricuspid valve is showing severe regurgitation. There is swelling in his feet. He has been taking 20mg (morning) and 20 mg (evening). Now the doctor has added Aldactone. My father also has COPD. Earlier Lasix used to be very helpful to cure swelling in feet. Pls advise if Aldactone will be good for him.

If right side of heart gets mixing of regurged blood the right ventricle overloads and the back pressure is leading to load in the return circulation causing congestive failure, accumulation of fluid in extracellular spaces in the peripheral circulation resulting in swelling of feet also. if uncorrected will lead to congestion of liver, spleen, portal hypertension, copd, he is already having, lung congstion might also follow. To treat all this, diuretics are given and aldactone may be beneficial to relieve congestion.Consult your heart surgeon if tricuspid regurg needs evaluation for any surgery as well or he can be managed on drugs for some more timee
