Hi doc, i have just got my pap smear result. i would like to know whether my result is normal or abnormal. im very worry about it, the doctor who did my pap smear he didnt explain it much. it said in the pap smear result: adequency of specimen: satisfactory endocervical/ Sq metaplastic cells : present hormonal pattern: non-athrophic inflammation: mild inflammatory changes leucocytes: mild polymorphs bacterial flora: moderate (bacili) specific infection: not detected ephithelial changes: mild inflammatory changes thanks alot cheers

Firstly, I would request to do Pap test from a referral institute. Because in your report, Bethesda system of reporting is not followed properly.
From the given report, it can be said that there is inflammatory changes which are non specific of any particular infection. It may be due to altered vaginal flora.
It is benign changes. But there is presence of metaplastic squamous cells for which you have to be followed up every 6 moths.

According to your reports you are having infection in cervix or vagina , your doctor must had started treatment for the same , appart from than no such significant finding in it . So rest result are normal .
