Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have growth on my inner thigh that just appeared a few months, it has now grown larger and spread into 2 seperate growths right next to each other. They are just slightly darker color than my skin, soft to the touch and dont seem to be filled with anything.. I dont know what this is, can you help? The one started out round and smaller than a dime when i first noticed it and they both have grown larger in size now with no specific shape..
Hello,
These are likely to be soft tissue swellings which can be due to many causes. Since the growth rate is appreciable and those have grown to large sizes within a span of just a few months, it is strongly advised that you go and meet a surgeon who would do a complete investigation in your case along with a biopsy from the lesions if indicated. Only when the cause is outlined can proper steps be taken. Time is of essence here therefore act fast!
Hello,
A good closer physical examination will help determine the type of growth you might be having. But from your description I will suggest that you are having (in order of probability):
- lipoms
- adenofibromas
- cysts
- abscess
- malignancy etc
I'll suggest you see surgeon for evaluation and probably will have to excise both masses (or do biopsy first), send to the laboratory for histopathological analysis to determine the exact nature of the mass.
If abscess, just excision, drainage and daily dressing + oral antibiotics + antiinflammatory will suffice.
Hope this helps
