HSG Result Shows Right Fallopian Tube Seen Medially, Distal Tube Not Seen, No Free Spill On Right Side. Explain
Hi. I have done HSG and results were as follows: A control film of the pelvis is within normal limits. On the contrast study, the cervical canal and uterine cavity are normal. The left Fallopian tube is well outlined, however no free intraperitoneal spill is noted distally. The right Fallopian tube is seen medially, but the distal tube is not seen, and no free spill on the right side is noted.
All of your HSG fields are normal, except for the distal end of the right fallopian tube. This could be due to an obstruction or blockage of the tube. Ectopic pregnancy cannot be ruled out, and will have to be clinically correlated.
Beta hCG levels can help confirm pregnancy, and also will be lower than the required amount (in case of an intra-uterine pregnancy) in an ectopic pregnancy. Please consult your doctor for the same.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes
