Had Epilepsy Attack. Unable To Sit Or Walk. Lower Back Pain. Unconsciousness. Taking Debomedrol And Eptoin. Related?

Hi. My sister had an epilepsy attack twice (3 months back and second 2 weeks back) and since that day she is not able to sit or walk. she is complaining of pain in her lower back and states that there is a portion in her thigh which does not have any sensation. She gets unconcious sometimes and comes back to normal state after 10 - 15 minutes.
Major Medicines taken till date:
1: Debomedrol Injection - Could this cause that pain
2. Eptoin for Epilepsy -
3. Addiction to A cough syrup.. could this cuse epilepsy

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
Epilepsy needs evaluation by a scan called as MRI brain-epilepsy protocol and electroencephalography (EEG). Then, we would be able to pinpoint the cause of seizures in your sister.
Addiction of cough syrup in some cases can aggravate seizures, as fits can occur as part of withdrawal symptoms.
Depomedrol generally does not cause pain.
I hope it helps.
Please get back if you require any additional information.

Best wishes,
