There are many drugs available to treat epilepsy some common ones are valproic acid, carbamazepine, lamotrigine, levetiracetam, etc which can be used in alone or in combination. However it is difficult to make recommendations when you don't say what he has already used without success and in what dosages.
Also in determining management first some tests are needed like EEG, brain imaging, some routine lab tests, a history of other medical issues.
While you are welcome to ask for advice on this site (with the extra info I mentioned above) you will still need to stay in touch with a neurologist where you live as these are all prescription drugs which are taken for a long time with possible side effects, so you need to have periodic visits with your local doctor.
