Had PMB. Pelvic Ultrasound Shows Fibroids. Related To Adhesions From C-section?
I am 56 years old post-menopausal. Had PMB last month - felt like a regular period even though it had been 2 1/2 years. Pelvic ultrasound showed no ovarian cysts, 5 cm fibroid and uterine lining of 5.6 cm. Dr. said it could be a number of things from hyperplasia to early uterine cancer. Hysteroscopy was difficult because of a twisted cervix. I am wondering if this could be related to adhesions from 3 c-sections?
Hello, In the current scenario, you would definitely need to rule out an uterine pathology as well as cervical lesions. Adhesions would usually be revealed in an ultrasound. A laparoscopy would be helpful in such a situation. You may discuss with your gynecologist regarding available diagnostic procedures and decide. You may get a pap smear; adhesions could cause anomalous positions of the organs and relief may be had through laparoscopic release thus making hysteroscopy possible. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
