Had Shingles And While Walking Hurts Under His Arms, With Terrible Pain. Any Solution To Ease His Pain?
hello! my dad has had the shingles awhile back and getting along pretty well. he likes to walk but if he gets out and walks and it is somewhat cool, he is okay for awhile and then under his arm and where the shingles were, starts hurting so bad it almost makes him sick. after awhile it goes away but is there anything he can do to prevent this terrible pain? thanks for your help.
Hye! Your dad is having post herpetic neuralgia. Give him gabapentin and methylecobalamine tablet daily at night. If no contraindication, give methyle prednesolone in intapering dose , loading dose 30 mg. And give him fluoxetine tablet 10 mg in morning.PHN is a chronic disease , complication following herpes zoster. Reassurance will enhance the improvement. Tell him to avoid stress, worries, overwork, exposure to sun , and to keep the mind diverted to some good activitie.I hope your dad will feel better.. OK
