Had A Bilateral Oophorectomy And Salpingectomy. Have Vaginal Bleeding. Reason?
I had a bilateral oophorectomy and salpingectomy seven days ago ( I have BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations) as a preventative measure. I feel quite well ( I felt good prior...no symptoms...) but I have had to wear a light pad as I seem to have vaginal bleeding ( not heavy just annoying !). Do I need to contact my Dr. ?. I am not having difficulty with bowel or bladder, no back pain, etc. Thank you
Such bleeding can be normal reaction of your uterine to the lack of hormones (as most of them are produces in ovaries). Moreover, during the surgery there is always some bleeding, so the blood could accumulate in the uterine and now it is clearing out from this blood. So there is nothing to worry about as long as this is not ample bleeding and you do not feel weak.
I suggest you to wait couple of days, and if no improvement, than you need to contact your doctor.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
