Had A Cold, That Blocked The Ear. Feel Dizzy When Standing Up. Should I Meet A&E?

Hi, I've had a cold for the last 7 days and off the back of it I have a really bad blocked left ear, The pressure is making me really dizzy and i can't stand up without falling over... Is it worth going to my local A&E to see if they can sort it out because i cant get a doctors appointment till next week... Thanks Mark Gregg

hello mark gregg..
welcome to healthcare magic..
well after goin through ur query , its quite clear from ur symptoms that you have got a middle ear infection and inner ear infection secondary to sinusitis..

u have first caught cold in which there is usually secondary bacterial infecton which leads to sinusitis in the sinuses present in the nose.. and this infection can spread to middle ear through a connection between nose and ear called eustachian tube.. and this infection may gradually extend to inner ear.. middleear infection causes fullness and deterioration in hearing and sometimes tinnitus(ringing or hissing sounds )and pain, innerear infection leads to improper control over body balance..

middle ear infection can spread and may cause lots of other complications.. so i advice u to consult an ent specialist nearby preferably, if not atleast any local doctor to atleast start with an antibiotic and stop the spread of infection as soon as possible.. and yeah there is nothing to worry its completely treatable..
i hope this solves ur query..
wish u a speedy recovery..
