Had A Tampon On, Had Discomfort. Why?

Hi, I don t remember if I put a tampon in before I went out last night and I came home an thought I had one in but I didn t see a string and got worried because I don t know if it s in there or not. I also did try looking up there but my mother didnt see anything, and I tried putting one in and it went in but it was a little uncomfortable. still don t know if it s in tere or not, should I go see the actual doctor for a check?
