Had Abdominal Hysterectomy, Ovary Surgery, Have On And Off Grayish Yellow Discharge.
I am 10 weeks post op from andominal hysterectomy and ovary surgery. have had on and off grayish yellow discharge. doc said was granulation tissue and used silver nitrate on the site. she has now applied silver nitrate three separate times. today when she examined me said there was a new spot was showing granulation. she offered no reason for the new area. also put me on estrace cream 1 grm nightly . is this tissue common or should I be considering a second opinion, thank you, connie
It would be advisable or you to get an ultrasound scan over the surgical wound area. This will give information of any infection inside and if there is pus formation. The scar tissue formation can also be evaluated. Sine it is over 10 weeks old, you might consider a second opinion and swab culture of the wound area. If there is positive growth of bacteria, a course of antibiotics is necessary.
Hope this helps
