Had Abortion, Took Pregnancy Test, Shows Dark Line. Means Abortion Incomplete Or New Pregnancy?

I had an medical abortion four weeks ago on Sep 17th now on Oct 17th I took a pregnancy test and it's showing a very dark line to indicate a positive. I know there is no clear answer until I go back, but the anticipation is getting to me. Does a dark line mean further along like it was not complete or maybe left over hormones from the abortion, or could it mean a new pregnancy. I thought in the beginning of a new pregnancy the lines were always faint and with the abortion only being four weeks ago could I possibly be newly pregnant with a test already giving a positive.

I have read your question carefully and found that you had underwent a medical abortion 4 weeks back but now again your pregnancy test is strongly positive.
From my clinical experience I feel that this can be both due to an incomplete abortion and also a fresh pregnancy.

It is not a dictum that in earlier pregnancy the line should be faint, more over I don't think you are sure when you might have conceived again. So, it is difficult to tell what is the age of new pregnancy.
Getting a successful abortion makes one capable of getting pregnant again. There is no specific time.

After a complete abortion, the hormones go down very fast, and the test cannot come positive after four weeks due to it.
You have not mentioned about your periods??

I think an ultrasound abdomen, pevis and adnexa will help you in pin pointing the cause, it can also tell the age of pregnancy.
