Had An Accident, Chest Area Has Tightness, Painful Breathing, Painful Back. Did Muscles Get Strained In The Impact?

I was in an accident a couple of days ago - hit someone from behind -not going over 30 mph as I was stopped and accelerated and hit them right away and when I breathe I have a slight chest pain and it feels tight around my chest area and when I twist there is a slight pain in my back middle area - is it probably just muscles that got strained from the impact? Also a dull slight ache in the back/chest area.

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
It looks from the description that you might have injured your ribs or it could be due to simple muscle contusion. In either of these conditions you will get pain on movement of the rib cage.
I advice you to get an xray for the chest which rules out bony injury.
Momentarily use some analgesics, ice compressions, and pain killer gel
Hope this helps
