Had Aortic Valve Replacement. Occasional Cough Produces A Click, Slight Murmur Heard In Echo. Can Noninvasive Surgery Be Used To Repair ?
I had aortic valve replacement oct,1,2012. A st.jude pig valve was used. I have pcvs. A cough occasionally wproduces a click. The cardiologist said he heard a slight murmur and said he would order an echocardiogram . He said no surgical intervention needed. Is it possible stitches came loose from coughing? Can non invasive surgery be used to repair? Thank you
It is unlikely - after this long time - for sutures to come loose.
Generally it may not be possible to repair by non-non-invasive approach - changed anatomy and artificial valve make it difficult.
An Echocardiogram is the first step to analyse / More may be needed depending on the outcome / Any other suggestion at this stage is premature and guess work!
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
