Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my father(age 70) had a CABG and used to take CLOPITAB A 150. Now he had a CVA(front parietal bleed of 34 ml) so doctor told to STOP taking Clopitab A 150 completely.Question-1: Since he is a post CABG patient. Will it not affect him if he does not take Clopitab A 150?Question-2: Can he take Ecosprin as a substitute of Clopitab A 150 so that heart will be ok and no issue with bleed? plz reply ...ashok( YYYY@YYYY )
Indication of any medicine depends upon comparison between the effect and side effect of the particular medicine. As in your father's case Clopitab-a or even Ecosprin can lead to bleeding as your fathers report shows that he had bleeding inside his brain. Thus, if you continue Eco Aspirin or Clopitab-A, both can lead to increased bleeding leading to death. You were giving Clopitab-A to him to prevent his death but if now we give Clopitab-A or Ecosprin now, it can lead to death.
In my opinion, Clopitab-A and Ecosprin both should be stopped and I know that it will affect his heart but we have to decide which one is more harmful, death or weakness of heart.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
