Had Bilateral Breast Implants. Reactive Lymphoid Hyperplasia Diagnosed. Need Lymph Node Resection?
50yrs old woman. With bilateral breast implants since 2006. Solitary axillary node with fine needle aspiration reports Reactive Lymphoid Hyperplasia. Chest X ray normal. Thyroid US normal. Breast mammogram and breast US normal. After a course with antibiotics the lymph node remains unchanged. Would you sugest lymph node resection?
Reactive hyperplasia does not mean it is cancer. It is best to wait and watch in such cases, as there is no confirmation of a threat as yet. I would advise you go about regular follow ups with your doctor and monitoring of the lymphs.
