Had Biopsy For Possible Melanoma. How Long Will The Wound Take To Heal After Using Aquaphor?

I had to biopsies on Oct16th, for possible melanoma. The doctor cauterized the areas. One of the areas is on my inner thigh close to the knee. I am a teacher and constantly moving and up and down off the floor. I was instructed to use aquaphor. How long should it take for my wound to heal?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for mole. The most important thing is that not all moles are dangerous. So even if there is possibility of mole you should not be panicky about it. From your description it do not appear as malignant melanoma.
Just check for sudden increase in size, asymmetry, itching and pain in the mole.

For the part of of the wound : it generally takes around 14 days to completly heal the wound. It is almost more than 2 months since the biopsy had been done. I suggest you to meet your treating doctor and show the wound for any secondary infection.

Take care.
