last wik i undergone with bone scanning ..the consultation results are as follows: 1. whole body bone imaging shows satisfactory radiotracer labeling of the osseous structure with good general bone-to-soft tissue activity ratio. Both kidneys appear unremarkable.. 2. there is a small focus of increased tracer activity noted in the right anterior of 1st rib. 3. degenerative osteoarthropathy are noted in the shoulders, stenoclavicular joints, knees and ankles. 4. the rest of the visualized skeleton exhibits homogenous radiotracer distribution. do i need to worry with the results?pls explain further since i havn't seen yet my family physician to discuss the result with me..thank you.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
A small focus of an increased tracer activity can be due to a mild inflammation in the area. This is not clinically significant and does not indicate any bone pathology. Please do not worry. This will subside without any treatment.
