Had Brown Discharge After Sex But Before Period. Can It Be Due To Some Broken Tissues Inside?

Hi I am 27 yr old female, currently on the pill for two yrs, has recently had brown discharge before period. Period is due in 9 days. Brown discharge use to be after period before I was on the pill. Period is normal amount of blood loss, period is around 5-6 days. We had sex on Tuesday 31th Dec 13, found discharge on 4th Jan 14,and period is due on 14th Jan 14. I find that it does not stay for long only a day or two. I am concerned it might be a polpy or that when we have sex he might be to harsh that he has broken some tissue inside .please help me and advice me what I should do.

I think that your suspicions are not unreasonable at all. Something like a polyp could cause the discharge that you describe. The good news is that these things can be easily found on an exam and treated. Other possibilities include minor infections, or even some STDs. I think you should see your doctor to have an exam, and hopefully they will figure it out and take care of it.

It is probably not because of sex that is too rough, unless you felt pain and discomfort during sex because of the roughness. If that happened, you might want to ask him to be more gentle, and use a lot of lubrication to see if that helps. Good luck and I hope you find relief soon!
