What Causes Blood Discharge During Urination?

I was sitting down on the toilet going number 2. I had to pee but i had to sit and hold it in an ackward position do to the space. When I released the urine i felt a sharp pain and then noticed that I was peeing a liitle blood, it has been about 10min and i can still see blood coming out of my penis in small amounts. I dont have any STDs and this has never happened before. what should I do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The presence of blood in urine can be related to a urinary tract infection or kidney stones.

So, I suggest doing a urine test and an abdominal ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms.

I also recommend to drink liquids and especially cranberry juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
