Hi,
There is possibility of numbness in operated area.
The nerves in the skin are cut during cut on the skin,& so the numbness in scar & surrounding area.As the wound heals, fibrous scar is firmed . there are no nerves in fibrous tissue ,so the numbness continues .
post operative itching in cut area is due to healing. The itching sometimes persists due to excess fibrous tissue formation in scar. Many a times scar size goes on thickening .A Keloid may be formed.
- Best way is to avoid itching , this possible with psychological determination.
- sometimes corticosteroid ointments help.
- application of ice gives relief.
-prickly heat talcum powder is useful many a times.
In case Keloid is already formed, please consult a Skin Specialist for treatment.
Usually Ing Coticosteroids, lesser therapy, cyosurgery,or surgical removal are used according to sevirity of condition.
Ayurvedic medicine( Agnijit) is claimed to cure it .
Thank you.
