Hi, i am 42 years old. My daughter is 10 years old & wish to go for a second child. I had complications during my first pregnancy which was a ceaserian delivery due to breach position. Considering my age do you advice i take a second chance or will it really lead to complications & issue of the baby.
Hello Thanks for your query. According to the latest scientific recommendations, it is now advisable for women with one previous Caesarean section to undergo VBAC trial - that is TOL ( trial of labour ) for VBAC ( vaginal birth after cesarean section ) . Obviously the first indication of a breech presentation is not necessary a recurring one, so you have good chances of success. Your age on the other hand is a factor that lessens chances of VBAC. You should go for VBAC in a centre well equipped for maternal monitoring and facilities for urgent cesarean section if required. All the best for your delivery. take care.
