Had Diarrhea, Sinus, Tooth Ache. On Topamax. Had Migraines, Sinus Headaches. Any Alternative Medicine?

I have been on Topamax for 5 weeks. Max. dose 50ml. For the past week I have had diarrhoea, sinus, jaw and teeth ache, a feeling of depression, and confusion. I was on Endep prior to this for a number of years and felt it was not working as well as it had been previously. I am seeing my GP this afternoon but when she put me on Topamax she felt it was the only other alternative. I do not want to remain feeling the way i am although the migraines have gone I have sinus headaches but the other side affects are horrible. Is there an alternative medication you can recommend please. Lynn.

Hello. If not well tolerated topiramate, your doctor should replace it by another effective drug to prevent migraine attacks.Other effective drugs in preventing migraine attacks are flunarizine, verapamil, propranolol or valproate.
I wish you good health.
