Had Ectopic Pregnancy And Left Tube Ruptured. Pregnant With IUI, Prescribed Folic Acid And Duphaston. Suggest?
Hi doctor, I had an ectopic pregnancy two years back and left tube was ruptured... My last period was at 15 july 2013 and by treatment IUI on aug 6 and 7 i became pregnant..38 days after LMP i had a blood test my hcg level was 675 and 40 th day hcg level was 2040...dr.prescribe folic acid and duphaston 10mg...i have symptoms breast tenderness and gas...sometimes small abdominal pain like periods...Is it a good Pregnancy or not?
Hello Thanks for your query. Based on your B HCG levels, your pregnancy is definitely going well right now. However, to know if the fetus is viable or not, an ultrasound scan should be scheduled at 6 weeks. Visualization of a fetus with heartbeat is the most reliable indicator of a positive pregnancy outcome. COntinue taking the medications as advised. Take rest, and avoid stress and coitus. Hi dear, it is very true that the chances of repeat ectopic are very high. But, in your case, firstly BHCG titres clearly state that you are pregnant and secondly te increase in titre between 38th and 40 days of more than 2 times also points to intrauterine pregnancy. However get an ultrasound done within 2-3 days because at BHCG level of >2500, intrauterine pregnancy can be picked up with USG All the best
