Had Ejaculatory Duct Obstruction Surgery. Semen Volume High After Healing. Dull Pain After Ejaculation. Concerned?
My husband had ejaculatory duct obstruction surgery on August 15th. They did a vasogram to find the obstruction the same day. At first he healed fairly well and had a much higher semen volume. However the semen volume has seemed to lessen and the last few days he has had a dull ache pain in the area of his vas deferens after ejaculation. We are wondering how concerned we should be.

Your husband has had the procedure just over a month ago. He must take suggestions from his doctor regarding fitness and participation in vigorous sexual activity. Surgical procedures require rest for some amount of time for better healing. The volume of semen might be immaterial as long the semen analysis reports are normal.

Good Day! Ejeculatory duct obstruction surgery is a very complicated and technically difficult surgery even in the best of hands. That being said re-stricture rate is very high after surgery. If you consulted in my clinic i would do first an ultrasound of the scrotal contents and do a vasography to check patency of the vas deferens and the ducts.
The obstructed ducts may have been causing irritation thereby producing pain in the scrotum and testicular areas. Hope this answers your query.
