Hi, my sister had fever for 2 days and then have a blood test. widal test result: Typhii o titer 1/80, typhii H titer 1/80, paratyphii A negative, paratyphii B 1/80. leukosit 3.000. trombosit 175.000. 3 days after that, leukosit drop to 1.400 and trombosit drop to 86.00. Is it mean that she got DB and also thypoid fever? Does she needs antibiotic? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi!.Thanks for the query to HCM. I think the Typhoid test is False positive as the test performed after 1 week of fever is the right index. She may be suffering from Viral and as there is Thrombocytopenia it needs further evaluation She needs a course of Antibiotics. See a Intensivist. Take care.
