Had Fundiplication. Got Food Stuck In Esophagus, Cannot Eat, Vomiting. Am Hypoglycemic Also. Treatment?

I had a fundiplication in late 2011, and have had a host of problems... but they have all been better than the GERD, so it's been worth it. However, last night I got food caught in my esophagus, and wasn't able to eat or drink without vomiting (not true vomiting, but gagging up anything in my esophagus) for the rest of the evening. That has happened before, but I woke up this morning the same way, couldn't take normal daily medications without the water and pills coming back up. I am hypoglycemic and haven't been able to eat in about 18 hours. This is becoming a really bad issue, as well as it's PAINFUL in my chest. Can you help???

Hi,
If you are unable to keep down fluids, you will become dehydrated. Also, there will be problems if you are not taking your medications. I would recommend you visit the ED as you may need intravenous fluids if you are becoming dehydrated. Also, the doctor there may consider that you need some investigations to find out what and where the blockage is.
