Had Hernia Operation. Now Having Diarrhea. Taking Only Sloppy Foods. Causes Of Diarrhea?
I am asking a question on behalf of my mother. My mother is 85 years old, and was taken into hospital because of severe pains. She was operated on a (giant) hiatus hernia 3 weeks ago. She was discharged 10 days ago. Since the operation she has been suffering with diarrhea all the time. Some days are better than others, but she always has diarrhea. It is a yellowy colour. My mother is only allowed to take sloppy foods, and she is eating very little - at the moment really just a bit of yoghurt and some soup. Can you give me an idea what the cause of the diarrhea might be, and how it can be helped?

sir/madam , to the first is she is taking antibiotics still, if so it may be one of the cause for diarrhea. And by taking only liquid foods i dont think it may cause diarrhea. As she is old i feel better to once you meet your surgeon who have operated, they may change medications or do the needful treatment after assessing your mother once again. thank you.
