Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

A replaced joint should be totally symptom free after about 2-3 months of index surgery. If you are experiencing pain even after this period, it definitely indicates some problem inside the prosthetic joint.

The most common cause for persistent post operative pain after a THR is Infection unless proved otherwise.

So, a detailed clinical examination and appropriate investigations are needed to establish a possible diagnosis.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
