Had Incomplete Miscarriage. No Bleeding With Mifegest. Advised Misoprostol. Any Precautions To Be Taken?

Hi, I have taken mifegest on wednesday and tdy asked to take misoprostol as directed by my gynae. Nothing happened till now, its only after taking Misoprostol , I think bleeding will start. I had a miscarriage and since its not complete, my doc gave me this medicine. IN next 2 hrs I have to take misoprostol, any precautions or advice you can suggest ?

Thanks for your query.
For incomplete abortion, you have to complete the total medication course.
In most women bleeding starts 24 - 48 hours after taking misoprostol.
You might need to take 2 - 4 tablets or maybe another dose if the bleeding and passage of tissues does not happen.
Also, sometimes if the tissues are stuck inside, then the tablets might not work.
If you throw up or have diarrhoea, repeat the dosage.
Do not take painkillers if possible, as it might stop uterine contractions.
have a follow up visit after 15 days to ensure that the procedure is complete.
