Hello,

Above medications are given to prevent miscarriage and support your pregnancy. These are quite safe and not harmful to baby. You must take folic acid & vitamin tab and take complete bed rest in the first trimester.

Hi,

The abortions in first three months of pregnancy are mostly due to hormonal deffisiensy.Your doctor has correctly started the medicines to supplement the Hormone ,there by avoid the loss this time.

So the medicines prescribed are safe as well as essential for you both at this stage .
Apart from these, please start Tab. Folic acid 5 mg/ day,
- take a balanced diet, with high proteins, vegetables, salads, fruits, milk.
-A comparative rest, no exertion till you complete 3.5 months is advised.
- regular obstratic check up & strict follow up of doctor's adviced is needed.
Thank you.

OBGYN Dr. Timothy Raichle's  Response
First of all, I am sorry about your prior losses and wish you the best of luck with the current pregnancy.

With regard to patients with unexplained miscarriage, it is not uncommon to place them on supplemental progesterone during the first trimester. This is considered safe for the fetus and is a common plan in the US and abroad. So, while nothing is guaranteed, for what it is worth, this is considered safe for the fetus.

I hope that this helps.
