Had Missed Period, Periods Seen From Two Weeks, Light Pink To Heavy. Have Uterus Fibroid, Cyst On Ovary. What Is It?
Hello. I am 48 years old had just recently had influenza b. I missed my period during that month when I was sick. I started my period 2 weeks ago and haven't stopped. The first week of it was very light pink and got heavier near the end when it should have stopped. Instead it was like I was starting my period all over again. I have a fibroid on my uterus and a cyst on my ovary which was detected last year. Do you think there is something wrong??
Hi thanks for your question. You are 48 years old, which means you are pre menopausal women. Menstrual cycle becomes irregular, before stopping completely. The missed could be due to pre menstrual stage.Yes fibroiduterus and ovarian cyst could be another reason for this irregular and prolonged bleeding. I would suggest you to consult a gynaecologist who may examine you to determine the exact cause of bleeding and may prescribe you treatment depeinding upon the cause. Hope this answers your question.
You are in the perimenopausal range when irregular periods will gradually become the norm till menopause is achieved. It would be prudent to consult your gynaecologist if the flow is heavy or persists.
