Had Plantars Wart. Treated By A Podiatrist. Should I Request For It To Be Biopsied?

I am being treated by a podiatrist for a supposed plantars wart that I have been trying to get rid of for three plus years. I am concerned that it could be something else. The dr is planning on cutting it out this week. Should I request for it to be biopsied? I also have a red lesion on the top of the same foot that appeared three weeks ago and is not healing???

Hello and welcome to HCM,

An lesion that is removed from the body needs to be examined histopathologically.
Although it may be quite apparent on clinical examination that the lesion is a plantar wart, however, it should be confirmed microscopically.

If it has not been examined microscopicall before, you can request your doctor to sent it for histopathological examination.

A red lesion on top of the plantar wart could be due to inflammtion or hemorrhage.

thanks and take care
