Had Septoplasty And Turbulin Reduction. Yellow Discharge, Pain. What Is Wrong?
I just had septoplasty and turbulin reduction...... Recovery is over and all is good. My ENT sent me on my way in life... anyways, I looked at my nose and saw something... it looked like a booger, so I picked it... well It now looks like a yellow ish type piece of rope, and part of it is actually in my nose. When I pull it, it hurts really bad. I dont know whats wrong.... any advice?
I have gone thorough your description. Although it is not very clear; all I would suggest to you is to go back to your ENT specialist who conducted the surgery. Only he/she will know what was exactly done and in the process understand if this is part of the procedure and then suggest the right treatment.
Hi from HCM, Thanks for your query. After a septal surgery and turbinate reduction surgery, crusting, mucus formation and some discharge formation is a part of normal healing process. What you experienced is some amount of dried crusts. The crusts can form a little more especially after a turbinate operation. It will reduce in 3-4 weeks. Your ENT may also clean your nose, if the crusting is too much. You can also put some normal saline nose drops which will help dissolve the crusts. Hope this dispels your doubts.
Hi, Thanks for contacting HCM You have history of septoplasty and turbinate reduction.yellowish type piece of rope. these symptoms are common after nasal surgery if nasal douching doesnt done properly, better to go for nasal douching .
Thanks
