Had Stroke, MRI Revealed Clot In Brain, Advised Strocit Plus, Ecosprin, Deplaft. Medicines Remove Blockage?

my father had stroke & was hospitalized. MRI scan showed that there is a clot in brain which is 90% in terms of blockage. Doctors have advised not to go for operation to remove block as my fathers age is 72 & have prescribed tablets like strocit plus, ecosprin,deplaft. My question is can only above medicines remove blockage or prevent from furthur increasing. If not please sugest me some other alernatives if any

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Medications such as ecosprin and deplatt are blood-thinners (anti-platelets) and can only prevent further blockage, they would not reduce the already existing blockage.

For that, there are two methods- surgery (endarterectomy) or stenting (without operation). If you can upload the results of MRI, MRA and carotid doppler, I can help you further.
