Had Surgery For Acute Compartment Syndrome On Right Lower Leg. Lost Feeling And Movement In Leg
Hi I had surgery for acute compartment syndrome on my right lower leg 2 months ago. I lost all feeling and movement in my foot also. I have been having very much nerve pain . Recently I noticed my toes are starting to curl inward and 3 of my toenails are turning black. I am wondering is this a sign of something that I should go see a doctor immediately ? I am waiting to get approved for Medicaid so I can't really afford another bill unless it's necessary. One more thing is I have not hit my foot on anything that would cause this problem. I hope my thoroughness helps rule out anything
Hi, It is important to follow a programme of rehabilitation after this type of surgery to avoid you losing the full range of movement and function of your foot. I suggest you do not need to see the doctor immediately but in the next few days to discuss exercises to keep your joints and muscles supple and avoid stiffness developing. Physiotherapy will also help. Regards, Dr K A Pottinger
