I am 4 weeks and 1 day post op after having a total hysterectomy. I am 46 yrs old and had an ovarian cyst which was a low malignancy mucinous cyst. This, along with my left ovary and Fallopian tube were removed 3 yrs ago and I have been watched every 3 months by Oncologist and OBGYN until my hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. (I delayed because I had lost a baby just before the cyst and was not sure that I was ready for a hysterectomy until more recently). Some months after my first surgery, I had pretty significant pain in the left hip crease and the flesh over the top of my pubic bone and down into the vulva area. With the pain was a fever and chills. I was away from home for Thanksgiving and treated it like an infection of some kind and used some leftover antibiotics. Fever left after a day, and soreness went away over a few days. 2 weeks ago, I experienced the same exact thing! Fever, chills and pain in the same places. Went to my Dr. Said I had a bladder infection and possibly a local infection on the left side. Treated me with antibiotics. Fever went away after 2nd day and most of the soreness. I am still feeling, not pain, but discomfort at times in the crease of my leg, especially when I lean against a countertop and sometimes even with tight underwear or when I sit. I know my lymph nodes are there....should I be concerned or is this just leftover soreness from fighting the infection? Thank you so much.
