Had Surgical Abortion, Pain In Lower Abdomen And Lower Back, Discharge. Any Residue Of Fetus?
I had an abortion last 3 weeks and I assume that the surgical abortion was not entirely successful. There is an agonizing pain in the whole section of my lower abdomen together with the pain in my lower right back, but sometimes I'm starting to feel pain in my left lower back. I am also assuming that there is still residue of the fetus or anything inside of me that is starting to spread in my other internal organs. I still have a discharge until now but it has lessened compared from the 1st week after my abortion.
Though every attempt is made to do a near perfect surgical abortion, chances remain that some of the material can still persist within the uterine cavity and cause infection and/ or discomfort.
In your situation, if discharge is still there, its time to get an ultrasound scan of your uterus to see and retained product of conception. Any infection in the region will also be seen on ultrasound scan.
You must discuss the ultrasound scan report with your your doctor and take prescribed pain relieving medication and antibiotics.
Hope this helps
