Had Swollen Pink And Red Toe. Is It A Bug Bite?

Hello, My 9 year old daughter since Thursday, has had a swollen pinkish reddish toe (the one next to her big toe). The toe is not itchy, she can walk, but she complains that it is sore. She is still acting like her happy self, it s just that her toe hurts, and it hurts if i touch it. What could this possibly be?? A bug bite? Gout? Please help!!

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi

Its likely to be a bug bite or injury.
If its very cold outside, please rule out frost bite too.

Gout usually presents with painful swelling at the base of the great toe.

You may give her Acetaminophen/ Ibuprofen according to her weight for a couple of days.
If it still persists or hurts a lot at any time- please do visit your Pediatrician.

Hope my answer helps you.
Wish your daughter good health.
