Had Total Knee Replacement. Rash On The Bottom Of Foot, Swelling. Applied Terbinafine. Is It Athletes Foot?

I had a total knee replacement last Nov. I have resumed playing tennis, but about a month ago I started to get a rash in the bottom of my foot --- the one with the new knee. It is getting worse. Dermatologist thinks it is a very serious case of athletes foot. Could it be a reaction to the replacement? I now notice that the leg from knee to toe is swelling. He told me to soak the foot in 10 parts water, one part vinegar, apply fluocinonide and take one Terbinafine HCL 250 MG a day. I am not near a doctor for at least a week. Any suggestions till I get back to my Dr or should I head back home from my vacation immediately and see my dR?

hello, i think the problem is not as a result of the knee replacement. just as your dermatologist said , i think you should contonue with the treatment for athletes foot. however, since you now experience swelling, consult the nearest emergency room to rule out any acute problems until you meet your doctor.
wish you good health
