Had Two Nodules In Right Lung. One Nodule Has Grown And Another New Nodule In Left Lung. Serious?
I have been having pain under right rib cage. Had my gallbladder removed which had no stones but symptoms presented as my gallbladder at times. Prior to gallbladder removal I had a ct scan in december 2012. two lung nodules were found one 4 mm and one 6 mm in right lower lobe. Now in october 2013 had a repeat ct scan done i still have the 4 mm nodule. the 6 mm nodule is now a 7x5.5 mm nodule and there is now a 3.5 mm nodule in my left lung superior lower lobe !
I am still having the back pain and shoulder pain that wraps around my ribs which are tender at times as well and my right flank.
Is the growth of the one nodule signficant and is the new nodule indicative of anything worrisome ?
Hi, Thanks for your query. Lung nodule which has almost doubled in volume with in a span of 6 months and appearance of new nodule, must be thoroughly worked. If on the CT scan it is centrally located the bronchoscopy and guided biopsy and if peripheral then CT guided biopsy must be done. Ruling out cancer is a must here.....
Best wishes
