Had Umbilical Hernia Repair. Why Am I Having Swollen Stomach?

I had umblical hernia repair 9 months ago. I had one at the top of my stomache right under my breast and 2 right above my navel. The thing is, my stomache is still swollen and looks really abnormal. It didn t look like this prior to the surgery. Also, as the day goes on, it can get really hard like a basketball. How can I tell if I am retaining fluid, or, what could be the reason why it is still swollen?

Hi
As per your query,i understand that it is done under Laparoscopic approach.
You didn't mention whether Prolene mesh was placed or not?
If mesh is kept,as it is a foreign body,there will be some reaction surrounding it.
So,your stomach seems swollen.
It will be subsided soon.
Please take a good antibiotic and anti inflammatory drug.
If you still have any doubt,get an Ultrasound abdomen.
You can come back after ultrasound report.I will clarify further.
