Hard Knot In Left Arm Pit, Sore Feeling In Upper Arm, Bruise Marks After Shaving. Treatment Options?

After shaving and after use of secret deodersnt, my daughter got hard knot in her left arm pit. She squeezed it and it popped an felt as if it flowed thru her arm. The next day (today) she has a sore feeling in her upper arm and several purple spots/ bruise marks in pit area as well as under upper arm. It hurts to move it. Is there a home treatment or should she see her physician ASAP

Hello,
Thanks for the query.

You might have developed bacterial abscess.

It might have occurd due to ingrown hair,

Another possibility is a condition called as hidradenitis suppurativa.

A photograph would have helped me better.

Treatment is with antibiotics.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
