Hard Lumps On Lymphs In The Crease Of Leg, Seem To Subside After Bath. Could This Be Cancer?

I have hard lumps on my lymph nodes that is located in the crease of the top of my leg (along the underware line) they change size at times and after taking a bath they seem to go down. I thought it was an ingrown hair ot just my body changing but my doctor seemed concerned and has referred me to a surgeon now. Could this be cancer?

Lymph nodes are normally present in all individuals in various body parts and one of them is the location that you have described (inguinal area). There can be a number of reasons for enlargement of these nodes like infections, TB, filariasis, trauma, cancer in the draining area. They are naturally enlarged in bare foot walkers. If you have no other symptoms (like lesions on the limb/penis/vulva/perianal area, discharge or bleeding per urethra/vagina/rectum, abdominal pain, etc), then the likelihood of these nodes being cancer is remote. However it is advisable for you to consult a surgeon as only after a thorough examination can a final opinion be given.
