Has Heavy Painful Menstrual Bleeding. Diagnosed With Bulky Mass In Uterus. Requires Operation. Will She Ever Conceive?

My wife is 43 years old and has no kid but is experiencing heavy and painful bleeding during her menstural periods. When she visited the hospital she was told that she has a bulky mass of about 7,11 in her uterus and she was told that an operation is the only treatment. My question is will she ever conceive after such operation?

hi,
thank you your query.

your wife is having fibroids.these are masses that originates from the smooth muscle layer (myometrium) of the uterus.these cause the heavy flow and pain during periods.

your wife's tumour size is large hence it requires surgery.
and yes she can conceive after the surgery.Myomectomy is the only fibroid treatment that may improve your chances of having a baby. It is known to help with mostly with submucosal fibroid.

only you need to wait for 6 months post operation and get a c-section done once you conceive.

thank you,
wishing you good health
