Have 17 Month Baby And Have Never Breastfed. Have White Fluid On Squeezing Nipple. Reason?
Hello, my name is Ashley. I had my daughter 17 months ago. I ve never breastfed her and everytime I squeeze my nipple I get clear and white fluid coming out. I been on depo provera shot for about 5 months, I was recently informed that it doesnt work for women over 170lbs. I got my menstraul 1 week ago and still have it today, so I m pretty sure I m not pregnant. So why could milk/fluid still.be coming out of my breast?
Hello Thanks for your query. Sometimes, white fluid / milk from the breasts is called galactorrhoea. This condition, apart from post partum, could be due to hormonal imbalance, particularly of the hormone called Prolactin. It could indicate some abnormality of the pituitary gland. Please consult an endocrinologist for relevant blood tests. Take care.
A discharge from the nipple may be simple, but at times it could be ominous... You should get yourself examined by a General Surgeon – to exclude underlying problem / at times, basic investigation may be necessary...
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
