Have Lyme Disease, Joint And Muscle Pain, Electric Currents In Legs, Dizziness. Part Of Lyme Disease?
Hello my name is Chrissy, I have had Lyme disease for over 11 yrs and was diagnosed last year with it. I had been diagnosed with everything else until 5/2012. I'm usually in a lot of pain - joints, muscle and so forth. In the past month it has fely like electric currants going up my legs! This is a new on for me. Plus at times I get dizzy with this. Is this part of the Lyme disease? Thank you for your time, Sincerely Chrissy
Hello, Welcome to Healthcaremagic. From your Query i suspect you may be suffering from Damage caused to the nerves, joints and muscles by your previous infection.
If not properly treated, it may cause permanent damage to nervous system and muscles and joints.
Thus you may be suffering from sequelae of previous lyme disease or recurrence of lyme disease.
But this type of nerve sensation and dizziness may also be caused by disc problems in spine.
So it is better to get neurologist opinion. Because you need physical examination to confirm either of these. they may suggest CT or MRI, if they suspect Disc problem.
Hope this Helps. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Manjeth
