Have MS. Diagnosed Shingles. Clusters On Back, Underarms, Burning Sensation In Neck, Face And Arms, Sore Throat. On Prednisone, Antiviral Medicine. Suggest

I am a 56 year old female with M.S.. Yesterday I was diagnosed with shingles. I have clusters on my back, under arm area of side and under rt breast. All located on rt side. Today my neck, face and arms feel like they are burning. Is this normal I am also very tired. I was prescribed prednisone, antiviral medicine at urgent care. Do I need to follow up with P.C.P. or my neurologist. I also have very sore throat and headache.

Hi all the symptoms and signs are typical of shingles.as u already are using antiviral treatment there is no need to consult neurologist.use antihistamine and antibiotic along with antiviral treatment to combat secondary bacterial infection
Ultracet twice daily for pain relief can be used along with calamine lotion over the lesions.it get cured within one week
Sometimes pain persists after lesions are healed.it is post herpetic neuuralgia especially in old age.it can be cured by amitryptline or gabapentin
