Have A Small Lump In Neck. Not Allergic Reaction. Now Left Tonsil Swollen. Painless White Spot Seen. Recommendations?

Hi there,

I have been to two doctors for opinions and they all put it down to allergies. I have a tiny pea sized lump on the left side of my neck, both doctors said it is not enlarged and it is normal, lately i have also noticed my left tonsil is swollen and today i have woken up with one tiny painless white spot on my left enlarged tonsil.

can you please advise if this is normal or not? thanks

Hello dear...

The symptoms mentioned in your post suggests that you might be having Acute Tonsillitis.
The tiny pea sized lump on the left side of neck is the enlarged lymph node.

Management consists of:
1. Gargle with warm salt water.
2. Analgesics like paracetamol
3. Antibiotics (depending upon culture & sensitivity reports) to remove the causative organism of Tonsillitis.
4. Avoid cold food & drinks
5. Maintain adequate hydration & proper nutrition.

So, kindly consult an ENT specialist & get examined clinically.
Investigations like complete blood count will be helpful in formulating the management plan.

There is no need to worry...you will be fine.
